No matter where we come from, whenever we are, we are local. I___LOCAL’s mission is to foster
a community that embraces the shared exchanges and the diverse backgrounds of its citizens. Through an interactive photo booth and user-generated advice we sought to provide an opportunity for people to contribute their unique perspective in order to create a community from the ground-up. The collection of information constitutes a range of locally specific tips supplied by a diverse group of local people. I___LOCAL believes that being local is not based on the amount of time you spend in a place, but rather the defined by one’s actions and participation in a community.
I___LOCAL was established in the Fall of 2010 by seven graduate students in the Graphic Design MFA program in the School of Art + Art History at the University of Florida.
