Teaching: Logotypes & Marks
The logo projects focus on honing students' abilities to use letterforms and symbols to convey concise multilayered concepts. Emphasis is placed on ideation, sketching, and final refinement.
Students have created logos for historical individuals, for themselves and most recently for the place where they are from—whether it is a city, neighborhood, street or bedroom. The later uses the Eames' Power of Ten film as a point for departure particularly the quote related to the vastness of outer space, "This emptiness is normal. The richness of own neighborhood is the exception."
