Teaching: Typographic Journals
The main objective of these journals is for students to be aware of the typography around them. The journal is a collection of forty to fifty images of typography and lettering the students amass over the duration of the semester—the good and the bad. The primary intention is for students to analyze and be conscious of the surrounding typographic environment. Each week the students pin-up their findings and through group discussions articulate their criticism. At the end of the semester they are to compile their findings in a book format organized by a consistently applied modular grid layout.
